Diabetes pisses u off when you get one of those illnesses that is just more likely in diabetics (or individuals will poor immune system). Shingles is annoying, but so far I am getting better and it doesn’t seem like the treatment will take that much longer, because of diabetes. But it does fuck up glucose levels. Well we will see how long it will take to be fine again. I’ll update you =]
I am not sure if it’s just my problem or if you guys have the same thing. Sometimes (it’s actually been happing more and more frequently) I would forget if I took my shot or not. Sometimes I would write down the amount of insulin I am supposed to take into the little diabetic diary and NOT take the shot, or I would take the shot, go away and then think ‘Crap I didn’t take my shot” and take it again and get into trouble. Sometimes I would take the wrong type of insulin blah blah blah. So I started looking for solutions, not to forget if I did or not. So for the night shot at least ( I am on Lantus which I take before I go to bed) I made a sheet of paper divided into seven parts for each day, labeled and I place the insulin pen into the right slot after the shot for that particular day was taken. And it works. Finally. Would be grateful though, if you let me know any of your solutions (that is if you have this problem).
woops, I didnt’ post anything for ages as I had tons of work to do for uni =S, well still do. But guys, I got a cross trainer after I got home from my holidays back home. I went to gym with my parents about 2-3 times a week and just did 45 minutes on the crosstrainer each time. And could see how much better I started feeling. Not just my energy levels improved, but my glucose levels as well. So I got a cross trainer for home too and do 45 minutes and feel awesome. I got it on friday and worked out three times since. I drink like light version of Lucazade or similar drinks so that my glucose levels don’t fall too much. And they don’t but I do generally need less insulin for the rest of the day =] Yey.
So I can highly recommend regular long activity like that for diabetics. just be careful and don’t workout if your glucose levels are too high!
